In brief
- You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the period already paid for.
- We refund a subscription when we do not provide the service you paid for, for reasons within our control.
- No refund is due for interruptions caused by force majeure.
- Your legal rights as a consumer, and Paddle's refund policy, always apply.
This policy applies to Bookiverse subscriptions bought online at www.bookiverse.online. It explains when we refund a subscription, how to cancel and how to ask for a refund.
1.Who processes payments and refunds
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our online orders and handles payment, invoicing, sales tax and refunds. Refunds are paid by Paddle to the original payment method.
This policy sets out when Bookiverse agrees to a refund. Paddle's own Refund Policy also applies.
2.Cancelling a subscription
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (6 months or 1 year) until they are cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the link in your Paddle receipt, at paddle.net, or by writing to info@bookiverse.online.
After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period already paid for, and no further payment is taken. Cancelling does not by itself give a refund for the current period.
3.When we refund
We refund a subscription when Bookiverse does not provide the service you paid for, for reasons within our control. This is the case when:
- subscriber content is unavailable to you for more than 72 consecutive hours, or for more than 7 days in total within any 30-day period; or
- during the period you have paid for, we withdraw a substantial part of the content or features described at the time of purchase, without providing an equivalent replacement.
The following are not counted: planned maintenance announced on the website at least 48 hours in advance and lasting less than 12 hours; problems with your own device, browser or internet connection; and accounts suspended for breach of the Terms of Use.
4.Amount refunded
We refund the unused part of the current billing period, counted from the day the problem began. If the problem began within 14 days after a payment, we refund that payment in full.
The time the refund takes to appear on your statement depends on your bank or card provider.
5.Force majeure
No refund is due under this policy when the service is interrupted by events beyond our reasonable control. These include natural disasters, epidemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government or regulatory action, fire and flood, failures of electricity, telecommunications or internet networks, outages of our hosting provider that are outside our control, and cyber-attacks that we could not reasonably prevent.
In such cases, we inform users on the website and restore the service as soon as reasonably possible. This section does not limit the rights described in the next section.
6.Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits the rights you have under the consumer protection law of your country. For example, consumers in the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital services, as described in Paddle's Refund Policy. Paddle may also grant refunds at its discretion under that policy.
Where the law or Paddle's policy gives you more than this policy, the higher level of protection applies.
7.How to request a refund
Please send your request within 30 days of the problem, in one of these ways:
- through the link in your Paddle receipt, or at paddle.net;
- by writing to info@bookiverse.online with your order number and a short description of the problem.
We reply within 5 working days.
8.Teachers, schools and organisations
Classrooms for teachers and licences for schools and organisations are provided under a quotation or a separate agreement. Refunds for these follow that agreement and, where it says nothing on the matter, this policy.
9.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. Changes do not apply to payments made before the update.
Contact. For any question about this policy, write to info@bookiverse.online. We reply to refund requests within 5 working days.
