The -ig Family
Hello everyone!
Today, we are going to learn how to read the 'i' and 'g' letters together. We have two letters here. This is the letter 'i' and it says /i/. This is the letter 'g' and it says /g/.
When we put them together, we can blend their sounds. Watch me: /i/ ... /g/ ... /ig/. This chunk says /ig/. What does it say? It says "/ig/".
Great! This is our word family for today. The -ig family.
-ig Words:
big
dig
fig
gig
jig
pig
rig
wig
zig
twig
That’s really great. Now, it is time to read a short text!
I need a big jig.
I want to dig a rig.
But now I want a fig.
No, I did not say a wig.
