The -ig Family

By Imed Sdiri

Hello everyone!
Today, we are going to learn how to read the 'i' and 'g' letters together. We have two letters ‎here. This is the letter 'i' and it says /i/. This is the letter 'g' and it says /g/.

When we put them together, we can blend their sounds. Watch me: /i/ ... /g/ ... /ig/. This ‎chunk says /ig/. What does it say? It says "/ig/".

Great! This is our word family for today. The -ig family.‎

-ig Words:‎

big
dig
fig
gig
jig
pig
rig
wig
zig
twig

That’s really great. Now, it is time to read a short text!

I need a big jig.
I want to dig a rig.
But now I want a fig.
No, I did not say a wig.‎
